Sandford Springs, a Premier Golf Course in Hampshire
With its mature trees creating a natural challenge this premier Hampshire golf course is aptly named The Wood and arguably the toughest of the clubs three nines.
The signature hole is the 13th, a testing dogleg left. Your tee shot falls into a chasm in front of you, with the second shot requiring an accurate pitch over water. Steady nerves required, but an enjoyable hole.
As the name might imply, water is the key feature of this course. Five of the nine holes on this Hampshire golf course bring the wet stuff into play.
The 21st is a long par 3 requiring particular attention and skill. The hole requires an accurate long iron to reach a well guarded green surrounded by water hazards. Good luck.
Regarded as the least demanding nine of the three loops.
The 9th is the signature hole, a short, down hill par 4 requiring an accurate long iron off the tee followed by a solid pitch to a green protected by two lakes. For the big hitter/foolhardy it is possible to carry the 270 yards over the water.
