Overview:
Situated just one mile from junction 18 of the M4 on the outskirts of Bristol in the county of South Gloucestershire, The Players Club is dedicated to the game of golf. The courses have been designed and built to the highest specifications that will push even the finest golfers in the world to their limits.
Full Description:
This South Gloucestershire Championship Golf Course can measure over 7600 yards from the back markers making it one of the longest courses in the UK with a front nine of over 4000 yards. The 7th & 8th holes can be combined to create a hole of over 700 yards (nearly a Par 6) using a few holes that will form part of The Stranahan Course which is due to open in 2009.
This championship course is played once or twice a year in the Stiff Salver and the Europro Tour Sky televised golf event that visits The Players Club in July each year. The new 18 golf course opening in 2009 will be called 'The Stranahan Course' which will be player friendly and aims to bring back the return of the three hour round.
